United Airlines is set to test SpaceX's Starlink internet service in early 2025, with a broader rollout planned for later in the year. The service will be offered complimentary on over 1,000 planes, allowing passengers to connect multiple devices at once.
Passengers can expect high-speed, low-latency internet connectivity similar to what they experience on the ground. The gate-to-gate service will support various activities like live TV, streaming, social media, online shopping, and gaming on both seatback screens and personal devices.
United's staff, including pilots and flight attendants, will also benefit from the service, staying connected and working efficiently even in remote areas or during events like power outages or natural disasters.
